Today we got the task of the preliminary. We got put into groups where i was with Joe and Lewis. We brainstormed many ideas and finally came up with our final story board. With approval from Miss Lewis, we Decided on a final idea, and prepared for filming.

November 21st 2016

We filmed our whole prelim in the lesson today and throughout the day during our frees. Getting all the filming done in one day meant we didn't need to rush, and could leave us enough time to edit it.

During these two lessons we edited our prelim, to successfully meet the deadline for the finished product

Today was the deadline for the prelim where we all watched each others pieces, and miss Lewis and miss Lancaster gave us verbal feedback. We then started our individual evaluations for our pieces, where we managed to finish by the end of the day

Today i completed my research on types of thriller, and now i believe i have a better understanding and idea of what sub genre i want my final production to be in

Today we got into our groups for our final production. i am with Rowan Thomas, Tom Reynoulds, and Archie Hunter. I continued with my research into directors, and 6 different films where i found out different techniques and trade marks the directors use. i was inspired my Steven Spielberg and his trade marks, and i may include this when planning for my final production. Then i published my research on my website too meet the deadline the following day

Today i did my research on Idents and institutions. I really liked the universal institution and their eye dent, so i may try and replicate this for our groups eye dent. We also finished all of our Brainstorming which was really helpful as we now know roughly what we want to put in our story boards, e.g. cast, equipment, location (Sheppey Beach), plot line, etc.

During the holidays my group got together and did the research into audiences, where we found out what people may like to see in our thriller, and what sub genres our target audience like the best. We then obviously Incorporated this into our planning and decision making from now on.

January 8th 2017

By this time we have decided our overall sub genre, and started story boarding. After feed back from our teachers we made the appropriate alterations to our story boards, and arranged our location, props and filming date. I also added all the planning aspects and changes we had made to my website to complete that section.

January 28th 2017

Today all of our group travelled down to Sheppey beach where we filmed all of the shots we needed for our thriller. It took us about 4 hours, but we didn't intend to go back, so we had to make sure we got all the shots we needed.

February 3rd 2017

Today we came back and processed all of our shots into the computer. We showed our teachers the shots and our intentions on how to edit them, and got straight to editing

February 9th 2017

By this time, we had edited most of the piece and showed our teachers for feedback. After some verbal feedback we brainstormed on what to make better and applied these adaptions throughout the week.

We had edited the whole piece by now, including the title sequence and started planning our eye dent. The Ident was my job to edit, and film, with verbal help from the rest of the group. I was really pleased with how the ident looked, after doing some research and looking into different examples i decided upon calling ours 'Iris Productions'. The Iris could represent a delicate flower that is easily breakable which links to the vulnerability to the victim in the thriller, however i decided i wanted to use the iris of the eye and have the text placed over the iris of the person's eye. The eye is known as 'the window to the soul' and i thought this would link well into our story line where somebody see's something that changes their life forever.

Tomorrow is the deadline for our thriller and website to be in, so i made final tweaks to my website and added the Ident to the final production in order to give in completed for tomorrow.
