Types of shots I find interesting
I researched into 3 different types of shots ive seen from various thrillers that i find interesting and i may like to include in my final production
The Trombone Shot
This shot is closely associated with the thriller genre, showing to be mostly used in the genre. The shot creates the feel of the background shrinking and the foregound increasing/staying the same size. This seems almost like an illusion to the eyes. It is created by tracking backwards, usually with a dolly whilst zooming in on the camera. It was first made popular in thriller's by Alfred Hitchcock in his film 'Vertigo' in which the character is at a height and looks down. I think it looks effective as it confuses the viewer and makes the shot almost look unrealistic.

The Pull Focus Shot
The Pull Focus shot is one that is very popular across all genres, however can be used particularly effectively in the Thriller genre. The Pull focus shot is essential in shifting focus from one object to another in a camera shot, either from foreground to background or background to foreground. In thriller films it is often used to reveal a plot or reveal an antagonist.

The Point of View Shot
The point of view shot is used often in multiple genres. It can prove to be very effective in some situations, such as when a character feels very vulnerable and is looking around for the source of danger. This kind of shot therefore establishes what the character is actually feeling, as it allows you to see things through the eyes of the person and puts their situation into perspective.
